Weekly Recap

Here's a recap of the week.

Monday was great. We went to the Sharks game and watched the Sharks beat the Lightning 3-1. It was the first Sharks game I had been to in quite awhile. It was nice to go back. If you haven't been to a hockey game yet, you should go. Even if you don't know much about the sport, it's the most entertaining sport to watch. Check a game out.

Work was the same as usual. Nothing major happened. It was a pretty slow week. I've decided that I'm happy that I switched to the day shift. The day time crew is so much fun, and have a better outlook on things than the afternoon crew. All in all, they're a much more pleasant group to work with.

I guess that's all to recap. Not much happened this week, which is better than a bunch of bad things happening, I suppose.

Time to watch the two Sharks games I have Tivo'ed (Tivoed?)

Are You White Trash?

I am 15% White Trash.
Not at all White Trashy!
I, my friend, have class. I am so not white trash. . I am more than likely Democrat, and my place is neat, and there is a good chance I may never drink wine from a box.

Take the test, and tell me what you are.

Fuck the Whales

We have a clogged drain pipe at work. Unfortunately, it's the drain pipe for our washing machine. So we are faced with two options: let the laundry pile up and take a massive amount to a Laundromat, or let the water empty into buckets, and then dump the water down a working drain. We've been going for option two. I was self-proclaimed laundry man today, and I discovered something kind of disturbing. During one load of laundry, I filled a 5 gallon bucket about 8 times. That means an average load uses about 40 gallons of water. We go through a lot of laundry, being a veterinary hospital, so we do roughly 15 loads a day (sometimes more sometimes less; this is my best guess at the average). This means we use an average of 600 gallons of water a day, just from cleaning our dirty towels, blankets, etc. So in a year, we use around 200,000 gallons of water a year. That just seems like a lot to me. And we're a relatively small clinic. I feel partially responsible for the death of 1, maybe 2 whales. Oh well.

Welcome to the Fold

So it's the New Year. I wish you all a happy one, and hope this year is better than the last (even if last year was a good one for you). I'm not one to make resolutions (weak will power), but I made one this year. It's a simple one: post more on this site. I've been lazy lately, and haven't been doing things as simple as taking 5-10 minutes to post. So I guess my resolution is to try and stop being lazy. Wish me luck.

Christmas was good for me. It was nice to see all the famliy, and I got some cool stuff. Here are some highlights of what I got:

The Office Season 1 and 2( watching it right now)
Futurama Season 3
Resident Evil 4
A Nice Bottle of Tequilla

I also got a ton of great books that I'm looking foward to reading, which include:

Freakanomics
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close Jonathan Safran Foer
Lunar Park Brett Easton Ellis
A Long Way Down Nick Hornby

All in all, it was a good Christmas.

So again, Happy New Year, I'll talk to you all real soon.
