So, this semester is over. Finally. I took my last final today. It went well, although I could have done better. I needed to study some more. You may be asking, "Well, why didn't you study more?" Well, little old me decided to catch a case of food poisoning last night. Nothing major; no projectile vomiting or explosive #2, but bad enough to make my stomach hurt like fuck and make me not want to move. It's gotten better, but my stomach still hurts every once and awhile. But fuck it; who cares? I don't have homework again until late August. Hell yeah!
Steph started teaching me how to drive a stick the other day. She said I did well. I was actually able to get the car into first gear, which she told me is not easy to do your first time out. I'm proud of myself. It was fun and I want to go out again.
Pick up the new David Cross cd. Funny shit.

Every fuckin' where I go I see the pathos that I know will spell the termination of us all
Actual exchange between myself and customer today:
Customer: Is The Last Samurai under 'T' or 'S'?
Me: (with disgust in voice) It's under 'L.'
Customer: (confusion in voice) 'L?'
That's how my whole day was. I also had an 18 year old girl (or younger) bounce up to me, ask if we had Distellers tickets, and then after I said no, she said "okay. I like you. Bye." And then bounced away. What can I say? I attract those high school girls. I also talked to a girl about Alkaline Trio, and then found out that she's friends with the drummer from Tsunami Bomb, so I finally got to find out why the bassists isn't in the band anymore. Apparently, he stopped being cool. So now I know. And so do you. Work continued to be weird after that
I have one more class tomorrow, and then finals, and then one semester til I graduate. Rockin'. I had to sit through presentations the other day on my vert bio class. They were good, except for one presentation had more cuts than an Aronofsjy film (that one's for you Matt). I can't wait for summer, so I can veg out.

Well They Took Some Honey From a Tree, Dressed it Up and Called it Me
Well, I'm back. I'd like to say that the reason I haven't posted lately is because I've been too busy. That's partially true. I've also just been incredibly lazy. So, what's been going on in my life...
I spent a weekend in the Mojave desert with my vert bio class last weekend. It was probably the best thing I've done in my four years at my college. I don't know if that says a lot about the trip, or very little about my school. Anyway, it was really cool; we caught a bunch of lizards and snakes, saw some cool sites, and drank beer with our teachers. I don't know how it could have been any better.
I also saw Death Cab for Cutie on Tuesday. It was a good show, except Ben's vocals were buried by guitar #2. That seems to be how it is these days. I don't know if that's the thing to do, or if people just don't know how to sound check anymore. But I still had a good time. The played a bunch of songs off their new album, which is their best one. Good times.
The Bad Religion catalog has finally been remastered. Go buy them. Start with "Suffer" or "Against the Grain."
One more week of classes, then finals. I can't wait for this semester to be over. I think I'm going to actually look for a new job once school is out and I actually have the energy to go searching.
On a final note, I love alll the heat Rumsfield and Bush and Chaney have been taking lately. I love to see them squirm, and can't wait to see their asses voted out of office (Bush and Chaney, at least).
That's all I got.

Sailing sucks
So I'm blogging while playing Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. Why you ask? Because you have to sail to different places of the world. And it takes flippin' forever. Especially when you figure that the programmers would have made the world map spherical, like our lovely earth. But no. The world is flat. Joy.
In other news, Rock Against Bush Vol 1 is coming out on Tuesday. Please buy it; it supports a great cause, and it has a lot of great music. And check out Punkvoter.com. Great news source for everything that's going on in our country (politically, at least).
I was gonna say more, perhaps go on a rant, but I just arrived at my destination. Maybe more later.

Bear is driving. I don't know how, but it can be.
This is what I saw at work today. The main street next to my place of work is a divided road. While I was out taking out the garbage, I saw a women in a Pathfinder type thing drive over the median, the punch the gas, jerked the whell hard to hit the entrance to our parking lot, straighten it out, then punch the gas again. All while hitting her boyfriend in the face. Wait, let me rephrase that: all while punching her boyfriend in the jaw. She did it so well, it looked like she'd done it a million times before. Then they got out of the car, screamed at each other, got back in the car, almost run into a tow truck, and then drove off. This only confirms what I already suspected: people are bat shit insane.

Trips are fun
First off, I don't like Blockbuster. It's not because they charge a lot, or because they don't carry Director's Cuts because they don't like carrying unrated or NC-17 titles. No, it's because they sold me a stale Choco-taco. Bastards.
Steph and I just got back from a short two day trip. We went through Bodega and stopped by an old cemetary. It was really cool. Then we hit Hwy 1 and just drove north. We stopped at Fort Ross for a bit (and got in free; thanks nice ranger lady). It was really pretty there. I'd like to spend some more time there, perhaps camp. Then we kept heading north, and drove until we got tired (or at least til Steph got tired, since we took her car and I can't drive a stick yet). We ended up staying in Ft Bragg. After a quick rest at our hotel, we walked around downtown Ft Bragg. We found that downtown Ft Bragg is the most boring place on the face of the earth after 5:30. Everything is closed, including 80% of the restaurants. Sad. So we ate dinner and then got some booze and went to the hotel room and drank and watched shows about snipers and serial arsonists on the History Channel. Fun night.
The next morning, we walked around downtown Ft Bragg again, and we found that it's a much more entertaining place during the day. We found a used book store and bought a couple of books, and checked out a bunch of antique stores. Then we walked on a beach for a bit and headed to Mendocino. We really liked that town, and added it to the list of places we'd like to live in one day. We walked around town, had lunch and then walked along a cliffside. The ocean in that area is so beautiful; clear as day and blue as the sky. I really love the coast. Then we stopped at another cemetary on the way out of town, and headed on home (with a brief stop in the woods for a quick nap). It was a really nice trip, although I wish we could have had some more time to stay, and perhaps drive further north. I have to stop typing now, because Felix is being cute and jumping all over the place.

I Wasn't Being Cute...I really hope he's dead
Come on Spring Break...daddy needs a week of doing next to nothing. Not much going on in this neck of the woods. We have a bunny know (if I already posted this news, then fuck you. I have a bad memory). His name is Felix. He is a black bunny and he's cute. He's adjusting well to his new home, and is starting not to freak out when Steph and I try to pick him up. He's eating hay, staring at me right now. Oh, to have the life of a bunny.
Anyway, Steph and I are trying to decide if we should go anywhere during spring break. I got Sunday through Tuesday off, but that's not r eally enough time to go anywhere too far. We may go camping, because it's cheap, but we shall see.
I went to two concerts this week. The first was Damien Rice. It was dissapointing. He was trying to hard to be a rock star and added 5 minute, fuzzed out outros to each song, with screaming vocals. This from a singer/songwriter who plays acoustic guitar. Huh. Then we saw Get Up Kids on Monday. They were really good, despite some technical difficulties.
That's about it. Matt's coming over to drink. I'kk try to post more often

I'm Very Non-plussed...Is that the right word?
Happy belated St. Patrick's day! Yesterday was a very long but fun day. I had class all day and went on a 2 hour hike for my vert bio class. Suffice to say, I was pretty tired when I got home last night. But I couldn't kick back and take it easy because we had people coming over. So I helped Steph get ready (although she did most of the work). She cooked a great dinner; corned beef (of course), carrots, mashed potatoes and salad. The corned beef and carrots were awesome; I'm very proud of her, since it was the first time she ever cooked corned beef. It was a good night, even though a couple of people who said they were going to come over didn't (bastards) and I had fun.
I have a couple of hours with the house all to myself, which means I can watch some more Curb Your Enthusiasm and play some video games. Rock.

It's Moments Like This That She'd be Tempted to Spit if She Wasn't So Lady Like
Okay. So I haven't posted a rant in awhile. I've been boring you with details about my life. I've decided that it's time to force some of my opinions on you.
So the California courts have decided to block the gay marriages that have been happening. I won't beat around the bush about my thoughts on gay marriage: I am whole-heartedly for them. I have no problem with gay people at all; one of my good friends is gay (even though it's been awhile since I've called her....sorry Marina), and I've known a couple more. I just don't understand where some people get off saying that it's okay for one group of people can do something, but another group can't. Where the hell is the logic in that? (I know, I know...there is no logic. Let me rant).
Side note: 'Acidic Drycleaner' would be a great name for a a Kama Sutra position.
Back to my rant. Why the hell can't we just look at people for what they are; as people. What difference does it make if two dudes want to get married, or two women? Marriage is about love people. Bottom line. Marriage is about the love between a man and a women, but it is also about the love between a man and another man, or between a women and another women. Let's just let these people be, and concentrate our energy on things that matter, like the fact that our president gace false information about what's been going on in the Middle East, and the fact that we have the highest murder rate in the world. Let's focus our attention people! For christ's sake.....
End 1st rant, Begin 2nd rant.
I read an interview with Conor Oberst (aka Bright Eyes) in Punk Planet today. It was a good interview, but it made me kind of pissed at the music industry. First off, the interviewer had to justify interviewing Conor just because Conor has been getting popular lately, much to his chagrin. Why is it that popularity for indie artists automatically means that they sold out, or that somehow they aren't as cool anymore? He made a good comment about musicians being popular. He talked about how millions of people listen to Elvis Costello, but that when he listens to him, it feels like he's the only person listening to him, because he can connect with him. And that's really all that matters. It doesn't matter how popular an artist is; if you can't connect with them, they might as well just be babbling. The interview also made me annoyed at how much the music industry is based on image. Conor made a good point about how mots "music" magazines don't even give a shit about the actual music, they only care about how cool or beautiful people look like. I know, the music industry has always been based on image, and always will be, but I wish that for once the only thing that mattered was the material, the music. At least to me, that's the only thing that matters.

White Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups Rule
It's been awhile since I've updated. So..what's happened since the last time. Well, I spent most of last weekend inebriated. Saturday was my aunt's 50th birthday party, and Steph drove, so I was able to drink. "Boo-yah..." It was the first time that I had seen most of my family since we got engaged. It was really cool because every seemed so excited about it and happy for us. Steph and my sister had a really good time. They get along well, which I haven't yet determined if that's a good thing or not. Sunday, I was supposed to go on a field trip, but I ended up skipping that so I could have another day to spend with Steph. We went shopping and I got some new pants and a shirt. Exciting. I like my new jeans though. Don't take my sarcasm as a sign of distaste. Other than that, not much has been going on. I cleaned the bathroom today, which should make Steph immensely happy, and now I'm watching "Curb Your Enthusiasm." I love this show. That catches you up. Time to eat!

So here I am, drinking a beer, talking to Matt, while Steph cooks dinner. Sweet. I think that's about all I have to say. Taco time

Let's Turn Out the Lights and Play a Game Called 'Who's in My Mouth'
So I didn't end up taking that other job. There's just too much crap going on in my life for more stuff.
I stayed at work tilll 10 for the first time in a long time. People need to stop renting movies. Bastards.
Apparently I've run out of things to say, cause I've been staring at the screen for a good 10 minutes. Oh well

Everyone on my team play the GAME OF SOCCER!
My feet are killing me. I think it's from work, but it many have been those weasels that were gnawing on my feet last night.
Steph and I are going over to her parent's tonight cause it's their 25th anniversary party tonight. That's pretty much all we are doing for Valentines Day..we "celebrated" last night (wink wink nudge nudge), and we both had to work today, so we won't get much of a chance to do more celebrating. Oh well. Neither of us really care.
I'm watching "Home Movies" for the first time in awhile. I missed it.

I wanna punch every bee in the face
Well, I got another job. It's not much; only about 6 hours a week. I'll be working with Dr Girman helping organizing the vertebrate museum before it gets all shipped out before the remodling of Darwin Hall. I will be making $10 an hour though, so I'm stoked about that.
I'm really started to get worried about graduating. I'm not worried about being to graduate; that I can do no problem. I just have no goddamn clue what I'm going to do after that. It seems so hard to get into the biology business (if you can call it a business). I just don't know where to start. Sometimes I feel like I'm way behind schedule and that I should have been worrying about this years ago. Oh well. I just don't want to be stuck at the Wherehut forever.
I'm watching Lost in Translation again. It's an awesome movie.

Amie, Come Sit on my wall
I rolled our loose change today. We have $30 in pennies, nickles and dimes. Rocking.
I have some alone time tonight. It'd kind of weird, because it's been awhile since I've had some, but it is nice too. Especially after this week. I needed some time alone to just kind of veg out. That said, I can't wait until Steph gets off of work. I know. I'm pathetic.
Two weeks into school and I'm doing my reading and homework. Things are looking up. Go me.

Don't think about the things that you fear, just be glad you're here
Another day, another dollar.
Saw Mystic River last night. It was good. And Laurence Fishburn plays a cop called Whitey. That's right. You heard me. Whitey. Think about it.
I'm feeling much better now that Steph and my ordeal is over. It was a long week, but things are already pretty much back to normal.
I'm going to Howarth Park tomorrow morning to look at ducks. I know you want to be me.
Fuck Le Divorce. It sucks ass. I want to punch it in the face.

My mistake to make you cringe
It really pisses me off when people don't mind their own business. Steph and I are going through a pretty difficult time, and it's a subject that we don't really want to share with everyone. Yet some people can't keep their noses out of it. Well, fuck you nosey people. Props to the people we've told who have been understanding.
On a much lighter and not as sad note, I started school, and I have this to say: fuck 8 AM classes, and fuck Arnold (and those before him) for the crappy budget that allows only one section of upper division bio classes, and fuck whoever decided that they needed to be in the morning.
End swearing now.

Pancakes!
See Cabin Fever. You'll understand. It's an interesting movie.
I had to make a revision to my top ten list. I found out that Interpol actually came out last year. So I just moved everything up and added the new Blink album as number 10.
I have two days off. Woo-hoo!! I think I'm going to go to Amoeba tomorrow. Rockin'.
That's about all I have right now. Bye

Stop on your right foot, don't forget it
In the middle of a long Bust-a-mov session with my fiancee. Now she's looking for pictures of her ex to show our roomate cause I just called him a pretty boy nerd. It's true.
One more day of work and then I finally get a couple of days off. I'm going to see if I can sell my mom's old rings to get some money, to help pay for Steph's ring. It's an awesome ring and it looks great on her. It's so sparkely and cool..
I saw Most Extreme Challange at my sister in law's house for the first time..it was...interesting. Well, Steph's back, so time for more video games. Oh, btw, I'm winning. :)
