Sailing sucks

So I'm blogging while playing Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. Why you ask? Because you have to sail to different places of the world. And it takes flippin' forever. Especially when you figure that the programmers would have made the world map spherical, like our lovely earth. But no. The world is flat. Joy.

In other news, Rock Against Bush Vol 1 is coming out on Tuesday. Please buy it; it supports a great cause, and it has a lot of great music. And check out Punkvoter.com. Great news source for everything that's going on in our country (politically, at least).

I was gonna say more, perhaps go on a rant, but I just arrived at my destination. Maybe more later.

Bear is driving. I don't know how, but it can be.

This is what I saw at work today. The main street next to my place of work is a divided road. While I was out taking out the garbage, I saw a women in a Pathfinder type thing drive over the median, the punch the gas, jerked the whell hard to hit the entrance to our parking lot, straighten it out, then punch the gas again. All while hitting her boyfriend in the face. Wait, let me rephrase that: all while punching her boyfriend in the jaw. She did it so well, it looked like she'd done it a million times before. Then they got out of the car, screamed at each other, got back in the car, almost run into a tow truck, and then drove off. This only confirms what I already suspected: people are bat shit insane.

Trips are fun

First off, I don't like Blockbuster. It's not because they charge a lot, or because they don't carry Director's Cuts because they don't like carrying unrated or NC-17 titles. No, it's because they sold me a stale Choco-taco. Bastards.

Steph and I just got back from a short two day trip. We went through Bodega and stopped by an old cemetary. It was really cool. Then we hit Hwy 1 and just drove north. We stopped at Fort Ross for a bit (and got in free; thanks nice ranger lady). It was really pretty there. I'd like to spend some more time there, perhaps camp. Then we kept heading north, and drove until we got tired (or at least til Steph got tired, since we took her car and I can't drive a stick yet). We ended up staying in Ft Bragg. After a quick rest at our hotel, we walked around downtown Ft Bragg. We found that downtown Ft Bragg is the most boring place on the face of the earth after 5:30. Everything is closed, including 80% of the restaurants. Sad. So we ate dinner and then got some booze and went to the hotel room and drank and watched shows about snipers and serial arsonists on the History Channel. Fun night.

The next morning, we walked around downtown Ft Bragg again, and we found that it's a much more entertaining place during the day. We found a used book store and bought a couple of books, and checked out a bunch of antique stores. Then we walked on a beach for a bit and headed to Mendocino. We really liked that town, and added it to the list of places we'd like to live in one day. We walked around town, had lunch and then walked along a cliffside. The ocean in that area is so beautiful; clear as day and blue as the sky. I really love the coast. Then we stopped at another cemetary on the way out of town, and headed on home (with a brief stop in the woods for a quick nap). It was a really nice trip, although I wish we could have had some more time to stay, and perhaps drive further north. I have to stop typing now, because Felix is being cute and jumping all over the place.

I Wasn't Being Cute...I really hope he's dead

Come on Spring Break...daddy needs a week of doing next to nothing. Not much going on in this neck of the woods. We have a bunny know (if I already posted this news, then fuck you. I have a bad memory). His name is Felix. He is a black bunny and he's cute. He's adjusting well to his new home, and is starting not to freak out when Steph and I try to pick him up. He's eating hay, staring at me right now. Oh, to have the life of a bunny.

Anyway, Steph and I are trying to decide if we should go anywhere during spring break. I got Sunday through Tuesday off, but that's not r eally enough time to go anywhere too far. We may go camping, because it's cheap, but we shall see.

I went to two concerts this week. The first was Damien Rice. It was dissapointing. He was trying to hard to be a rock star and added 5 minute, fuzzed out outros to each song, with screaming vocals. This from a singer/songwriter who plays acoustic guitar. Huh. Then we saw Get Up Kids on Monday. They were really good, despite some technical difficulties.

That's about it. Matt's coming over to drink. I'kk try to post more often
